If you are looking for a seafood festival with a bit of a twist, then perhaps Fryer’s Cove Winery’s upcoming Perlemoen Festival is just what you need. On Saturday, 10 November, Fryer’s Cove and the Jetty Restaurant will be hosting a Perlemoen Festival in collaboration with Doringbaai Abalone.
The perlemoen will be deliciously cooked and served on a bed of rice. The dish will be available in three different weights and prices: 50g for R100, 100g for R200 and 200g for R380. For those not too keen on perlemoen or seafood, the full Jetty Restaurant A la Carte menu will be available.
To keep you quenched throughout the afternoon, all Fryer’s Cove wines will be available for purchase, and those wanting a tasting can book in advance or take their chances on the actual day. At the festival, a local Doringbaai mixed-genre band will be performing live from 12 midday filling the fresh sea air with some soothing guitar sounds and singing.
Entry tickets cost R50 and this will secure your booking for the day. There are only 300 tickets on sale for the Sea Food Festival and these can be bought from Fryer’s Cove Winery or Namaqua West Coast Tourism. The event starts at 10am and will continue until late. Best to book your tickets early.
Children that will not be eating perlemoen enter free of charge.
