Cape Town 9 November 2016: The Cape Town Flower Show took place from Thursday 27th–Sunday 30th October 2016 at The Castle of Good Hope, in the centre of Cape Town with natural beauty of Table Mountain as its backdrop. Blessed with sunny skies and warm weather, the show managed to bring together the natural beauty of gardens and gardening, planting trends and designs for living outdoors which all celebrated the diversity of the Cape Floral kingdom. Unprecedented numbers of flower and nature lovers made their way into the historical venue venue in order to appreciate the wonders and beauty that Mother Nature has to offer.
The show featured a number of showgradens which were designed by the country’s top landscape architects and designers, with a total of 20 diverse and creative show gardens that were on display. The flower show also had Flowers in Art section which had a special display of South African paintings, ceramics, etchings and other artistic mediums that depicted flowers as works of art and was being curated by Epson especially for the show.
The back area of the Cape Town Flower Show contained a food court which was set among food gardens, where the guests were able to sample and buy from artisanal food producers as well as craft beer, craft gin, bubbly, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee. This area was also home to the Weekend Argus Jelly Bean Journal kiddies’ area where children could play, face paint and take photos with the Weekend Argus mascots, Jelly and Bean.
Guests were delighted by the beautiful surroundings and all the goodies that the exhibitors had to showcase including the nurseries and seed companies which were at their disposal in order to give advice on how to better help the environment and essentially how to be a better Gardner. “Thank you very much for the opportunity! It was really amazing. This was our first big event and we felt that our product was really well received! We would definitely like to be part of the next one”, Said One Glass Gardens, who was one of the exhibitors at the show.
We cannot wait to see what the next show will hold!
